Ahhh and often the 'they' are sadly and ironically other women either afraid of the light they see in you or triggered the hell out of you/it.
I remember in secondary school, I was one of the first to hit puberty and breasts so simply walking tall with my chest inevitably jutting out became "who does she think she is walking with her chest out". Or, "look at her walking as if she thinks she's too nice".
Instead of celebrating and learning to feel comfortable in my body I was taught by other girls that it was a thing of shame. I learnt to hide and walk to minimise my assets, and betray my body. A metaphor of how women are taught to reduce themselves as well as a mirror into our own internal landscape.
I've spent my adulthood reversing and reclaiming my right to be and take up space exactly as I am.
Florence, I hear your words SO deep in my soul. The world we've been conditioned in has an intense fear of a woman's true power. It's so clear how the patriarchal structure conditions women to feel threatened by each other. What I've found as I rise is some are threatened but at the same time intrigued (wondering if that's available to her too). That's what we need to reclaim--our love, support, lifting one another up and truly celebrating her rise!! When we walk into it, we give her permission to rise too. It's hard because we've been taught her win is our loss and if we can keep her small, we're safer. This keeps us ALL playing small. But as we awaken, we shift the paradigm! I see you over there breaking these cycles and I am so with YOU!
Yes and thank you, I see you too and your beautiful medicine. 💗
My post today explores this survival fear, an echo from the nervous system we inherited via the blueprint. It's so easy to dismiss it as comparison or scarcity or lack because then we become the problem Vs looking at the real origin of the sensation.
Indigenous societies a plenty teach us that it doesn't have to be this way.
